Areas
My clinical work primarily involves treating preschool- and school-age children with behavioral (e.g., disruptive behavior disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) and emotional (e.g., anxiety, depression) problems. I use developmental, cognitive-behavioral, and social learning frameworks to guide treatment and employ evidence-based interventions whenever possible. When treating behavior problems, I collaborate with parents to apply behavioral principles to child problems and consult with schools as needed to address difficulties in the school setting. When treating emotional problems, I work closely with parents and children together. Education is a large component of all of the treatments I provide, as they are designed to be skills-based and short-term.
