Dr. Zvolensky and AHRL staff regularly provide community-based workshop
and consultation regarding anxiety and substance use problems.
The AHRL serves principally individuals with anxiety problems, substance
use disorders, or the combination of anxiety and substance use problems
(comorbid problems). Our mission and focus centers on the dissemination
of evidence-based information, training, and community outreach (through
consultation). We have previously delivered lectures, workshops and
training sessions more generally to a wide variety of individuals
and organizations, ranging from community-based mental health agencies
(e.g., Northeastern Family Institute) to state-wide health-oriented
programs (Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems) to
nation-wide specialty organizations (e.g., American Lung Association).
More recently, we have been provided training in our evidenced-based
care programs for individuals with anxiety and substance use disorders.
Rates for workshops and consultations vary depending on the scope
of the project. Our staff is equipped to work with organizations to
develop programs that best meet individual needs. If you or your organization
would like more information about our one of our workshop or consultation
programs, please contact us.
On a more limited basis, the AHRL provides brief, time-limited treatment
to individuals and families with a wide variety of anxiety and substance
use disorders. For example, panic attacks, panic disorder, agoraphobia,
generalized anxiety disorder, specific phobias, posttraumatic stress
disorder, nicotine dependence, cannabis dependence, and alcohol use
problems are frequent presenting concerns. We specialize in care adults,
ranging from 18 years of age and beyond. However, on select occasions,
we also provide services to children and youth. Please also see our
Clinical Activities section for recent
information about ongoing clinical trials.
