         Dr. Lynn V. Johnson is an assistant professor within the Professional Physical Education Program at the University of Vermont. She received her BS degree (1977) and MS degree (1985) from Springfield College and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Vermont (1999). Dr. Johnson's focus of study has been Physical Education Curriculum and Instruction. At the University of Vermont, Dr. Johnson's responsibilities include physical education teaching methods for upper elementary and secondary levels, foundations, and coordination of student teaching.
          Before coming to the University of Vermont, Dr. Johnson taught physical education in the public schools in Vermont for over 10 years and at Springfield College for 4. She has been an active member of the state, district and national professional organizations and has been a member of a committee that has developed guidelines for standards-based physical education in the State of Vermont. In addition, Dr. Johnson has presented at the state, district, national and international levels in the areas of standards, standards-based assessment, and best practices. Dr. Johnson has also served as an advisor to pre-service students who have presented at professional conferences at the state and district level.
