Contract vendors perform a critical role in the procurement process. They have committed to extending the best negotiable terms, service and prices to all users, large and small, within the University. Beyond the obvious benefit of excellent pricing the university has negotiated many other benefits which are not as obvious. These may include guaranteed performance levels, "no-hassle" return policies, free delivery, and volume incentives.
You are strongly encouraged to
patronize our preferred and contracted vendors as much as possible. Doing so increases the
volume of business associated with a specific contract and enhances the
University's ability to negotiate successive improvements in contract terms.
Orders placed with non-contract vendors undermine this process.
