On May 20th, 2006 the Board of Trustees voted to approve the current version of the Campus Master Plan. This approval was the culmination of hard work by many people within the University as well as outside consultants and constituents.
The Campus Master Plan is intended to be used as a "living document." As a dynamic, evolving institution, the Plan provideds a flexible framework that can accommodate changes in attitudes about campus environments, new technologies and revised institutional requirements. This plan directly addresses the growth of the campus through 2015, and looks forward to growth in the decades beyond.
The work that led to the creation of the Campus Master Plan was done in phases. Phase I entailed input gathering from representative groups, including student groups, academic and administrative departments, and local planning groups. Phase II included the development of smaller scale master plans, such as the Transportation and Parking Master Plan, the Utilities Master Plan, and the Stormwater Master Plan. Phase III, completed over the past year, has included combining the work done in these phases as well as gathering additional input through meetings and public forums to draft the current Campus Master Plan.
