Exam Information

  1. This credit by exam is designed to test a student's proficiency in tennis at the intermediate level.
  2. This is the only credit by exam we offer in tennis.
  3. The Tennis Credit by Exam will consist of two parts: The first part is a skills exam which tests Tennis skills at the intermediate level. The second part consists of the student being evaluated as an intermediate level player during game conditions.
  4. The student must successfully pass the Tennis skills exam, in order to be eligible to be evaluated under game conditions.

Skills Exam

Students should be able to successfully execute the following skills:

  • Ground strokes - forehand and backhand
  • Volleys - forehand and backhand
  • Lobs and overheads
  • Serve and service return

Students should know the following:

  • Scoring
  • Basic Tennis rules and regulations
  • Tennis etiquette
  • Singles and doubles play

Game Playing Skills

Students will play a game of Tennis where under game conditions they must demonstrate an intermediate level proficiency in court positioning, repertoire of shots, shot selection, consistency of hitting and Tennis competition strategy.
