ASOP Standard-Based Units

This page is designed to provide Vermont teachers with units of study that align to the Vermont Framework of Standards and Learning Opportunities. There are three types of units on this page:

  1. Units designed by Vermont teachers who have visited China, Japan or Thailand through overseas institutes sponsored by the UVM Asian Studies Outreach Program (ASOP).These units are designed according to Vermont standards.
  2. Various units designed by educators (non-participants of ASOP institutes) published online.  The ASOP Consultant for Curriculum and Instruction has provided a teaching guide, assessment ideas and rubrics to align these units with Vermont standards.
  3. Published materials that have been purchased by ASOP.  These physical units are available for loan to Vermont teachers ONLY through ASOP. A list of Vermont standards covered by the unit is available from ASOP.

Please note that the accuracy of the above-mentioned unit content is the responsiblity of its respective author.  ASOP does welcome comments and feedback from reachers and users of this page.  For information about curriculum and units available, please email Debby King.
