Brad was born and raised on a farm in Charlotte, Vermont. He attended the respective high school at Champlain Valley Union where he competed in Varsity Wrestling. In 2007, Brad attended Champlain College with a Criminal Justice major in Burlington, VT. During this time, he was an active participant in the University of Vermont’s Army ROTC Program and the Vermont Army National Guard. Brad's experiences during these years included a United States Marshal Service internship, Federal Probation internship, attendance at the Army’s Mountain Warfare School, Air Assault School (helicopter operations), and Airborne School. Brad graduated in May, 2011 and was on a plane to Fort Benning, Georgia within a week. There he participated in his Basic Infantry Officer Course and the Army’s Ranger School for a total of about 8 months. Following, he made his way back to Vermont where he started the MPA Program in the 2012 Spring Semester. Brad is currently working full-time for the Vermont National Guard at the resident ROTC Program while attending school. On National Guard weekends, he is an Infantry Platoon Leader for 20 Soldiers in a Heavy Weapons Company.
