Please refer to the Lynx for additional information on the MIS Club.
The Management Information Systems Club is a student-run, faculty-advised organization designed for students concentrating in management information systems at the School of Business Administration, but is Student Government Association recognized and open to all UVM students.
OUR MISSION:
The purpose of the club is to increase the opportunities for those students interested in MIS careers to meet with successful MIS professionals. The club brings in guest speakers throughout the school year and also arranges career/resume-building workshops.
The club sponsors an annual trip to the Boston area. During the trip students meet with alumni and MIS professionals who have created successful careers as business analysts, designers, programmers, consultants, and IT managers. In the past, the club trip has been hosted by alumni from such companies as Accenture, Computer Sciences Corporation, John Hancock, Liberty Mutual, & PricewaterhouseCoopers. A highlight of the trip is an evening get together at a local restaurant with MIS alumni from throughout the New England area. Club fundraising events held each year enable the group to continue its activities. The MIS club offers its members the opportunity to build their contacts through our extensive MIS alumni database, improve their networking skills, and increase their knowledge of the MIS profession.
