My professional training in music has largely been in the fields of music education, conducting, music technology, and double bass performance, but the thing I love the most about music is composing. During the 1990s I began arranging and composing music for youth orchestra while I was teaching at the secondary level. Since the year 2000, I have been composing an increasing number of works and focusing more and more of my creative energy into composition. I have been composing choral music, instrumental chamber music, and orchestral music, and establishing myself as a composer both in Vermont, and elsewhere.  I have received mentoring from Evan Chambers, Professor of Composition at the University of Michigan, as well as from several of my composer colleagues, Troy Peters, Patricia Julien, and Thomas L. Read.

My music is published by Alfred Music Publishing, Grand Mesa Music , Tunbridge Music, and Kendor Music Publishing. Performance rights for my music are administered through BMI. Recent commissions include the Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble, The Vermont Youth Orchestra Association, The Jackson Youth Symphony, The Gratiot-Isabella School District, Social Band, and the Cadillac Michigan School District. My largest work, From Revenge to Forgiveness: Seven Songs of War and Peace, a one-hour long work for choir and orchestra, was performed by the Burlington Choral Society in April 2005.
