Biography of the Author.

I was born in New Brighton on the Wirral UK in 1968. I emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 18 leaving my family in the UK. I spent 16 years traveling the U.S. as a chef culminating with being acknowledged as one of the top ten chefs in New England.

I am an avid SCUBA diver, and angler so water quality is naturally a subject that is close to my heart. I returned to college part time in the fall of 1999 to attained a degree and become involved in water resource management.

I am currently enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Vermont pursuing
a Ph.D. in Soil Molecular Microbial Ecology in the Department Plant and Soil Sciences.
My current research is investigating the role microbes in the transformation and remediation of nitrogen at the Constructed Wetland Research Center at the Paul Miller Dairy Farm in Burlington VT with Doctor Aleksandra Drizo.
