Lutz Kaelber

I am a historical sociologist trained at Mannheim University, where I received graduate degrees in sociology and economics, and Indiana University, Bloomington, where I earned a Ph.D. in sociology (chair: David Zaret). As associate professor of sociology at the University of Vermont, USA, and member of the faculty committee of the Miller Center for Holocaust Studies, I currently carry out research on the memorialization of medical crimes during the Nazi period, with a focus on children. Als historischer Soziologe habe ich an der Universität Mannheim (mit Abschlüssen als Diplomsoziologe und Diplomvolkswirt) und Indiana University, Bloomington (USA) studiert, wo ich meinen Ph.D.-Doktortitel. Doktorvater war Prof. David Zaret. Als Assoc. Professor der Soziologie an der Universität Vermont (USA) und als Mitglied des Fakultätskommittees des Miller Centers for Holocaust Studies liegt mein gegenwärtiger Forschungsschwerpunkt auf der Erinnungskultur an Medizinverbrechen während des Nationalsozialismus, besonders Verbrechen an Kindern.
