Walter Dean Myers: Web Quest

Walter Dean Myers is an award-winning, prolific writer of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and children's picture books. He was born in 1937 and started his writing career in the 1960's based on his own experiences. He began his writing career with picture books and informational books but he is best known for his contributions in literature for young adults reflecting the lives of contemporary African Americans. He has been honored with numerous awards including the Coretta Scott King Award, the Margaret A. Edwards Award as well as Newbury Honor Books and a Caldecott Honor Book that was illustrated by his son, Christopher. In this Web Quest we are going to explore his life and how it has influenced his writing by exploring five of his more recent works.
