Advocacy

We work actively to improve the UVM experience for all LGBTQA affiliates. Part of our mission is to ensure that the policies and practices of UVM as an institution of higher education are welcoming, respectful, and fair for all LGBTQ students, staff, and faculty. We advocate for changes to homophobic and transphobic policies and practices and work to make sure they are implemented in just ways.

There are many important campus services that you may need to use during your time here at UVM - the Center for Health and Well Being, Police Services, Residential Life, and Student Life to name a few. If you encounter trouble with any campus service, please contact us. The LGBTQA Center@UVM is available to train staff and advocate for students, staff, and faculty to ensure that the needs of LGBTQ people on-campus are respectfully met.

Additionally, the following pages detail important policies and information for LGBTQA students, faculty and staff.
