This is a view of the Lorenz attractor created in MATLAB. The color of the points represents the average rate of growth of bred vectors (local Lyapunov exponents) computed over m=8 time steps. Note how the orbit spirals into and is sent away from from the repelling fixed point in one of the "wings".
