AMERICA EAST CHAMPIONS!

--February 17th The University of Vermont Women's Track team upset
BostonUniversity of the America East indoor track and field championship.  The meet was close throughout with
Vermont holding a 1.5 point edge going into the 4x400m relay, the last event.  Vermont held a lead through
the first two legs but relinguished it in the last 100 meters of the the third leg.  BU held a 10 meter
lead at the final exchange.  Senior Angela ran Down Julia Nazzer of BU and took over the race in the last
80 meters to seal the victory for the catamounts.  The winning 4x400 relay was made up of Kristen Stange,
Kristen Frank, Katie Driver, Angela Gingras.  The victory marks the first time in the 12 years of the
America East Championship that a team other than BU or Northeastern has won the championship.
    The Catamounts ran to victory on the shoulders of Gingras in the 4x400.  She also won the open
400 meters in a time of 58.78 as well as leading off the 4x800 meters with a split of 2:20.  Senior
Regan Coffey finished second in the 200(25., third in the 55m and third in the 55H.
