DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM: In description of the program be objective and specific. A parent, educator, or student should understand exactly what this program is like after reading your description. Describe the content, the presentation of information and the procedures. Indicate if there is feedback, record keeping or teacher management options available. Are there graphics, sound? Does the program print and/or save? Is there online help? What activities are available? What does the student learn?
EVALUATION OF THE PROGRAM: In the evaluation of the program you should let the reader know if the content of the program is clearly presented, if it stimulates creativity or is highly motivational. Would this program appeal to a wide variety of cultures and races? Are males and females represented equally and fairly? Is the material presented in a way to appeal to a wide range of learning styles? Are the activities timed? What are some of the programs strengths and weaknesses? Are instructions clear? Feel free to discuss the program and your opinions of it in this section.
APPLICATION OF THE PROGRAM: In application of the program explain how this program could be used in a classroom. Give a specific example of how this program could be integrated into a curriculum to enhance a lesson. Why would you use this program?
STANDARDS ADDRESSED : Look at the Framework of Standards for all Vermont Teachers. What standards is this program addressing. Identify these by number and description and link them to the part of the program teaching those skills and content.
Your review can be done in any word processor as long as you can include your screen dumps. Text should be done in a 12 to 14 point font and your document will probably be 2-3 pages. Hand in a printed copy and place a copy of the document in your folder on the network. Also save a copy of your screen dump that you use as a graphic in your network file in jpeg or gif format. This will enable you to bring it into your portfolio if you wish. Remember to crop and resize your picture in Photoshop before you put it into your word processed document.
