There are 125 Implementation proposals that will move forward from Tier I to the Tier II review.  The PT3 Office needs 56 Tier I Implementation reviewers to participate in the Tier II review and would like to invite you to be a reviewer.  Please confirm your availability to participate by C.O.B. on Monday, April 9th to Chad Gordon at Chad_Gordon@ed.gov or (202) 502-7786 or (703) 655-8977. Nine PT3 proposals that you did not review at Tier I will be sent to you overnight via Federal Express on or about April 16th.  All proposals must be evaluated and all written comments must be completed prior to arriving at the review site. The PT3 Office is requesting that the Tier II reviews provide more comments on the Individual Technical Review Forms and the Panel Summary Recommendation Forms than during the Tier I review.  We would like to provide as much technical assistance to the applicants as possible.  Your comments and expertise provide this technical assistance to the applicant.  Additionally, the Tier II review serves as the selection process for the Spring 2001 grant competition.  All panel recommendations ("Recommend", "Recommend For Further Consideration" and "Do Not Recommend") must be clearly documented with sufficient justification. The review will be held at the Sheraton Premiere Hotel in Tyson's Corner, Virginia. The travel day is Thursday, April 26 and the panel discussions will begin around 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27th. The panel discussions will conclude at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28th.  The Tier II honorarium ($300 per day) and reimbursement payment and procedures will be the same as the Tier I review.  Panel chairs will be selected and notified by the PT3 staff at a later date.
