Grades K-1 Examples Dinosaur Pictures
This first grade class has been studying Dinosaurs and the children have made slides
in Kid Pix Deluxe. Students have a picture of a dinosaur, a sentence about them and read their sentence aloud.Heart People
Kindergartners learned about the "shift" key for capital letters. They made Heart People
Valentines by resizing the heart stamp for different body parts.Squirrel Habitats
Kindergartners shared what they learned about squirrels. In the Tech Lab, they used a template with a squirrel and they added the background. They used a combination of the KidPix pencil tool to

Some children drew a picture of a part they would add to the story. Making Maps in KidPix third graders use KidPix to make maps. Coupon Books Students make a coupon book. for their parents and learn KidPix tools in the process. Third graders used KidPix for a number of activities in their unit on Egypt: King Tut Third graders, studying about Ancient Eqypt, used the fill tool, and other paint tools andpatterns in Kid Pix to add the details to a scanned drawing of King Tut.Egypt Fact Slide Show Using the computer, third graders each wrote something they learned about Egypt and then illustrated their facts. The next step was to combine all of the facts into a Kid Pix Slide Show. Egyptian People Drawing Egyptian Style
Third graders, studying Egypt, drew these ancient Egyptians using the tools in Kid Pix.Drawing Insects Second graders use KidPix to draw different insects.
Multiplication Second graders made arrays to illustrate multiplication problems. They could use any of the digits from 1 to 9 to write their probelm. Next they chose a Kid Pix Stamp to make their first row. Then they used the moving truck tool and the magnet option to "select" that row. After the row was selected, they "copied" the row and "pasted" it the correct number of times to illustrate their math problem.Romulus and Remus
Third graders, learning about Ancient Rome, illustrated different parts of the story of Romulus and Remus. Several students
decided to tell the whole story by making a Kid Pix Slide Show.Tiger Slippers When Chinese mothers made slippers, they padded the soles with layers of paper and cloth to made the slippers soft for their children. They often sewed tiger faces onto the front of the slippers. Here are some examples of the tiger slippers third graders drew on the computer during their study of China. Cricket Diagrams Second graders are beginning their study of insects. After looking at pictures of crickets, students drew their own crickets and labeled the three main body parts. Hopi Pottery The Hopi Indians have lived in the same area of the Southwest since before the time of Columbus. They lived in what is now Arizona. They lived on desert land at the foot of the mesas. Hopi women made beautiful baskets, clay bowls, and jewelry. After looking at examples of Hopi pottery on the Internet, students designed and drew their own clay pots using Kid Pix. will identify the patterns and the shapes that were used. Using the "Edit Stamp"

Grades Ideas 1-6 Kid Pix-Ideas From Geneva
At a staff workshop in Geneva, Switzerland, educators came up with the following
ideas for use of Kid Pix. Some of these ideas are being used with the English Language
Special Education Association (ELSEA) students. These are children with severe
learning disabilities who are working on some of the activities such as the alphabet
book. So far the program is going wonderfully.2-6 Point of View Poem Grade Level: 2nd - 6th Grade 2-6 Idioms / Figures of Speech Students in grades 2 - 6 use KidPix to Illustrate some common idioms.
