Creating a Frame for your Photo

Add that special touch to a photo you love. Create a frame in Photoshop to enhance the photo of your choice.

Complete your photo with a frame

Start with a photo you love and want to enhance with a special touch .

Create a new layer. On the new layer use the rectangular marquee tool to create a box around the portion of the photo you would like inside the frame. Then go to the Select menu and choose INVERSE. This creates the frame area.

Then you must fill the frame area with a color. Use the Edit menu and choose Fill. You may fill with a background or foreground color or just use black or white. Black is used in the example.

Now to add some style to the frame area. Use the Fiter menu. Select ARTISTIC and Colored Pencil.

On the Colored Pencil menu, you may select the Pencil Width, Stroke Pressure and Paper Brightness. The example uses 8 forWidth ,8 for Pressure, and 25 for paper brightness

Voila! A framed photo.
