    Who am I?
    AppleWorks and graphics: Develop a two columned, 2 page newsletter with a banner on the first page all about you. Focus on your educational and computer experiences but feel free to discuss your interests, travels, hobbies, concerns about college or anything you would like to share. Include your digitized picture with frame and add other appropriate clip art to help illustrate your information. Print one copy (black and white is fine) and submit to me for grading. Also place a copy in your folder on the network. Copies of these may be printed and placed in your personal folders in the department of education so faculty can learn about you so keep that in mind.

    Dream Classroom/School
    AppleWorks drawing tools: Using the drawing tools or painting tools in the Drawingor Painting Program, create your dream school or classroom. Include your name somewhere in the picture. Save in your network folder as an  AppleWorks and also as a PICT file with a different name. Print a colored copy for grading. Products will be assessed on your ability to: use a variety of drawing tools, use the tools accurately, include details and save and print your document.

    Electronic Portfolio 
    You will begin your web-based electronic portfolio.Your first page should serve as a "Spash Page" leading to a table of contents and short introduction about you. A third link will go to a page of your computer products in this course. Other links might connect to pages about your professional interests, experience working with children, and educational products from your coursework and outside school activities. DO NOT include personal information beyond your name and future goals. Examine the online rubric to determine specific grading criteria.

    Databases
    Develop a database of 10 to 15 records of 5 or more fields about a curriculum topic or administrative function that will be useful to you as a future educator. See the sample of grading criteria. Take a screen dump of your database in table format and add this with your search questions and answers to your electronic portfolio. Make sure to add a link to this assignment.

    SpreadSheet
    Use the spreadsheet in ClarisWorks to construct a grade sheet for 10 imaginary students with 5 imaginary grades. Take a screen dump of your grade sheet and upload this to your electronic portfolio.

    Graphs
    Generate a graph for a simple research study that you conduct. You must have 10 respondents but topics can range from month of birth to whether the students in your dorm prefer Pepsi or Coke. Submit a graph with title, labels and a header with your name and date. Take screen dumps of your graphs and add these to your web site with a description of your study.

    Software Review
    Select one educational software program to review and critique from the Technology for Teaching lab in 431 Waterman. Combine text and graphics from the program (use screen dumps) to respond to the criteria on the software evaluation handout. Upload your review to your portfolio and include a button to link to it off your table of contents. Include graphics.

    Group Multimedia Product
    Working with a group of fellow classmates you will design a teaching-HyperStudio stack for use with elementary/middle or secondary school children. See  rubric for specific criteria for contents  and demonstration of your skills in using a multimedia program. Your final product will be presented for class assessment.

    E-mail messages
    Reading and understanding assigned articles. Participation at least once a week in e-mail discussions of articles, forwarding of interesting information, questions and answers sent through e-mail, correct use of distribution list.
