An Action is a recorded sequence of commands that can be played back for future use. The action can range from simple keyboard shortcuts to complex commands. You can record your own actions, use those that are included in the program, or download and add from Internet sites.

Ready, Camera, Actions:

Open the Actions Menu from the Window Menu of Photoshop. The Actions palette is used to record, playback, edit, delete, save and load new actions.

To create a new action, click on the New Set button in the Action menu. Enter a name for the set and click OK.
As you create an action, the commands you use are recorded. When you're finished, the commands will appear as a list in outline form.

To run an action, select the action you wish to use. Click the forward button and follow any directions.
