Spring at last: The UVM Sugar On Snow Party

Friday, April 21st, 2006

sugar on snow During a short trip to the bookstore today, I stumbled into, and through, the annual UVM Sugar on Snow Party. In addition to the cold, sweet, chewy treats (and accompanying pickles!) served up in the warm spring sun, the local folk group Atlantic Crossing served up their own treat in the form of a live show. The Solar Bus was also there. I’ve put up a set of photos of the event on Flickr for your viewing pleasure.

Spice Up Your Popcorn

Thursday, October 13th, 2005

hot peppers I was at a Local Establishment earlier this summer relaxing with some friends. It’s one of those places where they have a popcorn popper - much like what you would expect to see in the movie theater. The staff serve this buttery, salty, fluffy stuff as appetizers and snacks.

Anyway, I remember looking over at one point and seeing someone shaking something over the popcorn. No, it wasn’t salt - it was Tabasco sauce. Oh, yeah. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Mmmm Gummi!

Monday, July 25th, 2005

Well, the Potent Potables catgory has been seriously lacking for quite a long time. So I thought it fitting to bring it back to life with nothing less than a 13 pound Gummi Bear. Sweet, sweet nectar of the gods!

Tony Danza!

Yup. Apparently he’s a got a daytime talk TV show, with a cooking segment in which guest cooks come on and prepare a dish. Someone pointed me to the recipes section of his website the other day, which has all the dishes prepared on the show. Some of them sound pretty tasty, like “Eggplant, Sausage, and Ziti Casserole” for example…
