Introduction Maple syrup making is known as "sugaring" takes place all over the Northeastern parts of the U.S.A. The sugaring weather usually starts around the beginning of March, it normally last for about six weeks. Many steps are included in the making of maple syrup and the final product is shipped to different counrties all over the world. |

Your Task Follow the links given on this page and research information on "sugaring", so that you can create a guide to making maple syrup. You can make a poster, flow chart or informational writen guide. This should include what kind of trees to tap, how to tap those trees, when the sap will run, how to collect the sap, how to boil down the sap and how much sap will boil down and make how much syrup. A stranger to "sugaring" should be able to follow your directions and make maple syrup for themselves. |
