A Wetland Journey
Introduction: When you hear the word wetlands what kinds of thoughts or ideas come to mind? Do you think of a beautiful landscape of water and trees or do you think of slimy fish and bright green turtles? Today we are going to take a journey through the wetlands so we can understand what it is all about!
Your Challenge: It is a beautiful day and you are out taking a nature walk. The birds are chirping and there is a gentle breeze in the air. Suddenly you stubble across a beautiful wetland…
Task 1: Before you start your journey through the wetlands lets first find out what a wetland really is!
Task 2: Determine what kinds of animals live in the wetlands? What do animals in the wetlands eat? What kinds of homes do these animals live in?
Task 3: Determine what kinds of plants live in the wetlands? What kinds of insects rely on wetland plants for food?
Task 4: Find out what kinds of wetlands are in our very own state of Vermont?
