WATER WATER EVERYWHERE

Grade 2: Science

The water cycle has been going on for millions and billions of years, and your job is to find out how this amazing system works.  You want to find out why the water cycle works the way it does, and the key parts of it.  You want to be able to answer the main questions below when you are done with your quest.

  1. What is evaporation?
  2. What is Condensation?
  3. What is Transpiration?
  4. What is precipitation?
  5. How do all of the four terms above work together to create the water cycle?

Below is a diagram of what the water cycle actually looks like:

To begin your quest go to this site in red and learn about the key terms talked about above

Fun fact:

Water is an integral part of life on this planet. It is an odorless, tasteless, substance that covers more than three-fourths of the Earth's surface. Most of the water on Earth, 97% to be exact, is salt water found in the oceans. We can not drink salt water or use it for crops because of the salt content. We can remove salt from ocean water, but the process is very expensive.

Go to the site in red to see a diagram of what the key terms mean and than see how they work. http://mbgnet.mobot.org/fresh/cycle/cycle.htm When you have seen the diagram, make a diagram of your own explaining how the key terms work in the water cycle.
