Going to

Ghana

for

Cocoa Beans!

(for grades 2-3)

You have just finished reading the book  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake.  You have decided that you would like to start your own chocolate factory.

A friend of yours happens to be an expert when it comes to the yummiest tasting chocolate.   Your friend tells you that chocolate is made from cocoa beans and in order to have the best chocolate you must have the finest cocoa beans.  You smile at your friend and say, “O.K., I will go to the Price Chopper or Hannifords and get some fine cocoa beans”!  Your friend frowns and says, “No, no, no, you don’t understand”.  Your friend carefully looks left and right to make sure no one is listening then looks deep into your eyes and whispers,  “If you dare to compete with Willy Wonka, you must go to Ghana in West Africa for your cocoa beans”.
