LET'S ROCK!!

Imagine: You are a geologist! You spend your days traveling around the world studying many different types of rocks. You have just recently discovered that there are 3 types of rocks. They are called igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Did you know a geologist is a person who studies rocks?!

Your Challenge: You will be working with 2 other geologists in your class. In your team of 3 you will each choose a different rock type to become an expert on. Then answer the following questions and complete the tasks that are in your rock type column. You will write the answers on a separate sheet of paper. When each member of your geologist team has finished their research you will share your findings. IGNEOUS SEDIMENTARY METAMORPHIC 1. How are igneous rocks formed? 2. Name at least 3 examples of an igneous rock. 3. Choose one of the examples from question 2 and write a short description of that particular rock. (make sure to write which one you choose) 4. Write at least 2 interesting things that you have discovered about igneous rocks. 5. Can you name at least 1 famous rock. It can be a place, monument or statue. 1.
