Imagine: You are a geologist! You spend your days traveling around the world studying many different types of rocks. You have just recently discovered that there are 3 types of rocks. They are called igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic.

Your Challenge: You will be working with 2 other geologists in your class. In your team of 3 you will each choose a different rock type to become an expert on. Then answer the following questions and complete the tasks that are in your rock type column. You will write the answers on a separate sheet of paper. When each member of your geologist team has finished their research you will share your findings.

2. Name at least 3 examples of an igneous rock.

3. Choose one of the examples from question 2 and write a short description of that particular rock. (make sure to write which one you choose)

4. Write at least 2 interesting things that you have discovered about igneous rocks.

5. Can you name at least 1 famous rock. It can be a place, monument or statue.
