Your Challenge

Introduction

Walking into work one morning at World Wildlife Guidebooks, Gary Greenthumb was shocked at the sight he saw. Research books were thrown all over the office, papers were scattered across desks and his co-workers were running around screaming. After several minutes, Gary was able to attract the attention of Mary Maple. “For goodness sakes, what is going on here?” Gary shouted. Mary informed him that in the rush to publish this year’s books, they had forgotten to finish their best-selling guidebook: Animals of the Northeastern Woodlands. Now, thousands of angry booksellers were calling and demanding to know when they would receive their books. “What will we ever do?” Mary cried. Gary, being a quick-thinker, knew just the thing. Gary decided to call you, the famous zoologist and desperately beg for your help. Being a generous person, you agree to help Gary complete his guidebook.

The Challenge

Using the internet, find information on the following animals: deer, beavers, black bears, turkeys, moose and raccoons. Use the information to create a picture guidebook. The guidebook must include information on the animal’s appearance, the food it eats, its babies, its classification and its predators. You must also include a drawing of the animal.
