You ARE What You Eat!

Food Webs and Food Chains- A Special WebQuest for Second Graders

Introduction:

What did you eat for dinner last night?  What about for lunch?  Do you know where your food comes from?  You are a part of a food chain with everything you eat.  We have to eat so that we are provided with the raw materials we need to help us to move, grow and stay healthy.  And did you know that everything we eat can be traced back to the sun?  For example, if you had eggs for ham for dinner, the ham comes from pig.  The pig gets its energy by eating vegetables, and the vegetables get their energy from the sun.
