Introduction:
What
did you eat
for dinner last night? What about for
lunch? Do you know where your food comes
from? You are a part of a food chain
with everything you eat. We have to eat
so that we are provided with the raw materials we need to help us to
move, grow
and stay healthy. And did you know that
everything we eat can be traced back to the sun? For
example, if you had eggs for ham for
dinner, the ham comes from pig. The pig
gets its energy by eating vegetables, and the
vegetables
get their energy from the sun.

Challenge:
What
you need to
figure out, is just where the foods you eat come from and where you are
in the
food chain! You will need to trace
the
production of the meat, dairy, vegetables, or whatever else you have
recently
eaten. Use the links on this page to
learn as much as you can about food chains and food webs.
Once you have read about them, you will be
able to create some food chains of your own on the websites below! Good luck!
