Black Holes

All the wondering about the inner workings of black holes is over! You can find everything you need to know.

Suggested grade level: 4 or 5

Black holes are somewhat of a mystery and we are only now discovering more about them. We can't go into a black hole because they are too far away and… we wouldn't come back!!! We can observe black holes from very powerful telescopes though, and that is how we get the information we have. Now you have to find out just what is this information that we have? Is it fact?

In your report using this webquest you shall become a black hole expert. Your report should include how black holes are formed, how they die (if they die), what black holes are capable of and whether the information we have is fact, fiction or somewhere in between. What does a black hole look like? Include lots of other things that you find interesting that you think others would find interesting too.You will write a scientific report of your findings that you can present to others. Remember you are the scientist and you will be presenting this information to people who do not know as much as you so make sure you explain all the scientific language you will be using.
