Welcome! The food guide pyramid divides food into five major food groups: grains, vegetables, fruits, milk, and meat. Each of these food groups provides some, but not all, of the energy you need to run, play and get you through your day. No one food group is more important than another. For good health and proper growth you need to eat a variety of foods everyday. You will be looking at the food guide pyramid and learning all of the different food groups that make it up. The food guide is something you look at inorder to choose a healthy diet that is right for you!

Challenge! The chef of your favorite restaurant is sick and has asked you to come up with some healthy chioces for the lunch and dinner menu of the day. You are to go through the websites and look at the food that makes up the food guide pyramid. Once you have studied the pyramid and think you know the food groups really well, your challenge is to put together a healthy lunch and dinner menu with different options because everyone has different tastes.
