77 Pearl Street

This building has an eight by two bay and is clad in red brick.  This building is now home to commercial property, and has undergone many renovations since it was originally built.

This building was built in 1885 by Garrett M. Cosgriff and was kept as a meat distribution store.  Across the street from this store was a grocery store, owned by Cosgriff and his partner James McGrath. [31]   The grocery store is now Boves Restaurant, an Italian diner.  Miss CM Kelley took over the store after Cosgriff in 1910, and Louis Izzo then followed her in 1922.  The building was then sold to the Merola family in 1975 and is maintained as an Italian grocery store to this day. [32]   This building is an important clue to the history of this section of Burlington, reminding us that this was once an Italian immigrant neighborhood.  The building is now known as RadioDeli.
