24 Murray Street

           This gable front home is clad in clapboards. There is a projecting bay window and the entrance door on the first story of the front façade.  There is an addition added to the building on the right side, not shown on the 1877 map, with its flat roof being covered in slate. 

           In 1886, a Mrs. Louise Mills lived at 24 Murray, with no occupation listed in the directories.  Also, a Miss Eva Parker lived at the home, and was under the employment of EH Payn.  EH Payn also resided here, and his profession was that of a gun maker and a locksmith, his office was located at 4 Mechanic Street. [17]   By 1901, the McClellan Family had moved into 24 Murray.  Miss Florence McClellan was a dressmaker; Wm. P. McClellan was a mason, and John L. McClellan was a student. [18] There was also Miss Dora A. McClellan and George B McClellan, neither one holding occupations at the time.
