157/159 Pine Street

This 6-by-3 bay, two story house has a centered gabled wall dormer with an occular window.  There is an addition in the back of the building, probably used for additional rental space.  The building is clad in red brick, with the front façade painted a light yellow color to take away from the heaviness of the brick.

In 1886, Charles R Nash lived at 157 Pine, where he continued to live throughout the beginning of the twentieth century.  Nash was part of, Nash and Cunningham, which specialized in plumbing; gas fitting, steam and hot water heating. [22]   There office was located at 4 North Winooski.  In 1886, W.E. Marsh lived at 159 Pine Street and worked as a traveling salesman for Shepard and Morse Lumber Company.  By 1906, Harlow V. Gordon had moved into 157 Pine and worked as a manager for Eastern Tea Company.  Lester M. Davis had moved into 159 Pine Street, and he worked for Robinson-Edwards Lumber Company. [23]
