Edit the File

You have created an HTML file, opened it in a browser to check it, used View to open it again and make some changes. Or you have found a file on the web that you would like to copy and have used View to open and edit it.

You have saved the file as a text file on your computer and have named it with the extension of .htm or .html. What's next?

You can check it one more time by going back through the Web Publishing Cycle to the section titled Open in Web Browser or you can continue to the next stage and make the file publicly accessible.

To make the file publicly accessible you will need to move it to the server and set the rights for the file using an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program. There are several "flavors" of FTP, among them are WS_FTP for Windows and Fetch for Macintosh. Choose your platform:
