We are a husband and wife team, having run our business - Hot Glass Works in Jamaica, Vermont-since 1978. "HOT" stands for "Hank or Toby." More often than not, we work together, on production items as well as helping each other with more one of a kind artwork. We each have our own styles and specialties, working from our imagination, or inspiration, making party favors to museum quality glass. Beginning back in 1978, Hank and Toby Schwartz started blowing glass outside, building their cabin in the woods, and bringing their finer etched glass to exclusively glass galleries, establishing a reputation with the collectors.  Little by little, they began building their shop, continuing to blow glass, and work on their house, which seemed to get smaller, so we added on (and on) over the years.  When their kids came along, it was harder to travel, so they expanded their line of glass, and opened their own shop called ‘HOT GLASS WORKS’ in Jamaica, Vermont.  They still etch designs on their glass, though now most are commissions, as their stained glass windows.  They focus and work on color, visibility, and density of design, in addition to fixed and flexible budgets.  They sell a wide variety of Christmas Balls, pressed glass “coins”, drinking glasses and goblets, as well as their funky extras like unique vases and jars- all while playing with variations on patterns, textures and design.  They also welcome special requests and designs, but everything they make is done with funk and fun!
