To illustrate the conceptual framework behind our project, click here to download Lee's animation. This short video shows both a cross-sectional view and a map view of what we think the ice sheet has been doing over time and how this activity has controlled the production of cosmogenic nuclides in bedrock surfaces. Note that this is a .avi file and may not be sized properly if opened in a web browser (especially for Mac users). If this is the case, the .avi can be downloaded and played from your hard drive.
During our field season, we had two correspondents from the Exploratorium museum in San Francisco follow our progress. Several dispatches about our project are now posted on the Ice Stories webpage. To learn more about our project and to see footage of our work in the field, check out the following videos:
- Here is some cool footage of the New York Air National Guard C-130 flight over to Greenland.
- Here is an interview conducted with Paul at our first field site near Kangerlussuaq.
- Here is an interview conducted with Tom at our last field site near Ilulissat.
- Here is a great montage of helicopter footage from multiple groups working in Greenland during the 2008 field season. All of the footage from 2:00 onwards is from our last flight along the Jakboshavn Icefiord near Ilulissat (keep an eye out for Lee at 2:00 and Tom at 2:20).
