Professional Development Opportunities
We serve teachers across disciplines and at all levels, early childhood through university. We provide professional development, develop resources, generate research and act on knowledge to improve the teaching of writing and learning in schools and communities.
The Green Mountain Writing Project Open Institute 2016 brings together Vermont teachers, K-12. In this three-credit course, you will explore your own writing in order to feel more competent and comfortable with classroom writing instruction. You will participate in demonstrations on the teaching of writing led by teacher consultants of Green Mountain Writing Project at UVM and will read about, discuss and respond to challenges such as integrating writing in the content areas in meaningful ways, understanding the CCSS, linking reading and writing, assessing writing, and using non-graded writing in the curriculum.
