	President Grant, James West, and Artemus Gordon are invitied to
	a reception at one of the foreign embassies in Washington for
	what is promised to be a "very important" surprise.  Intercepting
	the "surprise" the night before the reception, they discover
	that it is a set of kinotrope cards depicting President Grant
	signing a secret security pact with another nation.  In order to
	avoid a national disaster, Jim and Artemus must alter the cards
	and return them without anyone realizing that they were ever
	missing.

	Dr. Crane, inventor of a new explosive, is missing along with
	his daughter.  If his "doomsday formula" falls into the wrong
	hands, especially foreign ones, it could mean the end of the
	United States.  West and Gordon must rescue the professor, 
	his daughter and the formula before it's too late.

	refuse to leave.  The government sends Jim and Arte in to
	investigate the situation and to stop whoever is behind this.

	doctor accidently drowns.  Now the two must find out what he has
	done with the vial he stole, for unless they can recover it by
	11:30 that night, it will explode and unleash the next Black
	Plague on the United States.

	A giant underwater sea monster has awakened from the depths and
	is murdering fishermen.  It also kills a friend of Jim and
	Arte's who was just about to reveal what he knew about it.  Is
	it really a monster, or is there something more to this evil
	plot?  Jim and Arte race to find out before it's too late.

	Norbert Plank has been the bookkeeper for a syndicate
	controlling most of the crime in the western states.  As
	bookkeeper, he is the key to bringing down the entire syndicate.
	It's up to Jim and Arte to get him out of Epitaph, Colorado,
	where he's holed up under the protection of the syndicate boss,
	"Diamond Dave" Desmond.

	While an exhibition on the Egpytian Prince Ho-Ta Me is being
	assembled at a San Francisco museum,  a ruby is stolen from one
	of the statues.  According to the Princess, this ruby is not
	only valuable to the Egyptian government, but is a necessary
	part of her dowry;  without it she cannot marry, and her marriage
	will mark the end of war between peoples in Egypt.  Jim and
	Arte must recover the ruby and find out why so many parties are
	interested in a relatively worthless jewel.

	West and Gordon are called to the deserted mining town of
	Brimstone by a Professor Colecrest who has made a discovery of
	great importance.  However, before they get to Brimstone, the
	Professor is captured by a gang of men also seeking his
	discovery.  The professor, seriously injured in a fall, holds
	the key to the mystery, and Jim and Arte struggle to keep him
	alive until they can uncover the true root of the mystery.

	West and Gordon are called in to investigate what appears to be
	a giant tuning fork, capable of destroying entire buildings, in
	particular mansions of very wealthy individuals.  Suspecting a
	connection between the destruction and a brand new insurance
	company charging outrageous premiums, they attempt to persuade
	the individuals to shun the insurance, but to no avail.
	Instead, it's up to Jim and Arte to stop the destruction before
	something larger than a mansion is targeted.

               Ross Martin recieved a hairline fracture in his shin while 
               filming this episode.

	While Artemus is called off to Washington for official business,
	Jim and his old partner Jeremy Pike investigate the
	disappearances of several individuals; each disappearance matching
	a day of the week from a child's nursery rhyme.  The kidnappings
	are made even more mysterious when the person responsible for
	them spends a great deal of effort to make sure West knows the
	pattern behind them and still leaves him powerless to stop the
	abductions.

	West and Pike receive a note to meet a woman at a Chinese
	restaurant in San Francisco with a promise of information about
	the militant Din Chang who has recently stolen a supply of
	fulminate of mercury from a military arsonal.  Unfortunately,
	the woman is killed before they can talk to her and the only
	word she utters is "Pelican".  To further complicate matters,
	the only person they manage to capture is supposedly still
	serving time at Alcatraz.  Since it seems that Alcatraz and the
	woman are the two pieces they have of the puzzle, the two split
	up to track down Chang before he can use the volatile mercury.

	bandits who are attacking and terrorizing border towns.  They
	track the bandits to a Mexican village where the theives are
	hiding under the guise of an old Mexican legend about Cortez.
	Jim and Arte, not believing in the return of the god Cortez,
	are determined to find their way into the dorment volcano where
	the thugs are hiding.

               starred as Agent Ned Brown while Ross Martin was out due
               to the heart-attack.  This show has a great tag when Brown 
               tells West that he has had enough and is taking a long 
               vacation.  West asks "where?", and Brown replys that he 
               just wants to be alone on a desert island.
               He exits to the tune of the "Gilligan's Island" theme song.
