On January 24, 1968, while filming the episode The Night of the Fugitives near the end of the third season, Robert Conrad slipped while performing a stunt off a chandelier. Slipping from a prop that hadn't been "grip-taped", Conrad fell head first onto the concrete floor (which had been painted to resemble a wood floor). Conrad remembers the injury as a high-temporal concussion and a six-inch lineal skull fracture. Production was halted for 12 weeks, and the last two episodes of that season were cancelled. Production on this episode resumed on April 12, and it was aired in season #4.
