The educational impact is an important component of the mission of the research group.  The aim of the Materials Nanomechanics Group is to broaden the Materials Science graduate program of the University of Vermont to recent developments in computational methods, mechanical testing and microscopy.  Due to the combination of computational and experimental techniques, special emphasis is placed on teamwork among the graduate students and mentoring by research assistants.
