I decided to brave the rain and ski at Stowe on Monday, and it turned out to be as crappy as anyone would have expected. Cabot and Cider were overrun by tourists that didn't want to ski. Talking on my cell on the chairlift was a bad idea, water got in and killed it. Fortunately Verizon replaced it... either they didn't notice that the water damage indicator was bright red, or the guy was just really nice. Sugarbush today was surprisingly decent inbounds with about 4" of new snow that wasn't getting skied because no one was there. Really scratchy and gross under the 4", but it was still pretty nice in places (in an "i didn't expect there to be snow today" kind of way). The woods are going to need a lot, though, to recover from the rain. Bummer.
