Rural & Agricultural VocRehab Program
Rural & Agricultural VocRehab Program's Purpose
RAVR's purpose is to place
members of rural and farm families with disabilities into jobs consistent with their abilities and interests, or to assist them to stay
in their current jobs. Evaluation, counseling, and assistance in job placement are available to eligible people.
RAVR provides
direct and referral services to rural and farm families through assistance in these areas:
Coping with Physical and Mental Disabilities
Vocational Evaluation and Counseling
Education and Training
Vocational Training and Placement
Machinery/Equipment Adaptations
Worksite/Homesite Modifications
Financial Counseling/Planning
Farm and Land Use Issues
When referred, the family is visited by a RAVR Counselor who assesses health problems. This visit includes an evaluation
of the work tasks and specific functional limitations, and begins a worksite, machinery/equipment evaluation to determine the
potential for assistive technology. Also included is an assessment of family resources and capabilities which could be developed as
part of a rehabilitation plan.
Information obtained while working with anyone is confidential.
Fees
There are no fees for services. If financially able, the individual may be
asked to contribute toward his or her vocational plan.
