This page reports data from the TEOM Total Suspended Particulate monitor at the Riverside Apartments at 669 Riverside Avenue. Data is provided by the McNeil Station / Burlington Electric Department and hourly summaries are presented below. Understanding the Data

The TEOM monitor is collecting data on concentrations of total suspended particulates, or TSP. The monitor pulls in air, collects particles on a filter, and then records the mass of the particles. The concentration of particulates is expressed as micrograms per cubic meter ( µg/m3).

About McNeil and the Riverside Apartments

The McNeil Plant is a wood-fired electric generating facility located in Burlington's Intervale and adjacent to a residential area in Burlington's Old North End. Concerns by neighbors about dust from woodchip unloading impacting the Riverside Apartments prompted the McNeil station to install a trestle enclosure to minimize dust during traincar unloading and to install a monitor to collect data about dust at the apartments.
