Paul Bierman paul.bierman@uvm.edu

Paul is a professor of Geology and Natural Resources at UVM, where he has taught since graduating from the University of Washington in 1993 and Williams College in 1985. He teaches a variety of "hands-on" courses related to Earth's surface and the processes active there. His research interests include landscape evolution, paleostorm chronologies, and the development of innovative and effective teaching methods that hold student interest in and out of the classroom.

 

 

Eric Butler eric.butler@uvm.edu

Eric was a graduate student at UVM from 2001-2004, working with both the Geology and Education departments to develop geoscience curricula at a variety of levels. Prior to UVM, he earned a B.S. in Geology from Beloit College (WI) and spent a summer as a GeoCorps America intern, working on geologic interpretation with the National Park Service in northern Texas.

 

 

Joanna Reuter joanna.reuter@uvm.edu

Joanna is working towards a Masters in Geology at UVM. She has served as a TA at UVM as well as at Carleton College, where she completed her B.A. in Geology in 2000. Her research interests include landscape erosion on various time scales and the application of GIS to geologic problems.
