Douglas Porter (School of Engineering, University of Vermont) is an architectural conservator who directs grant-funded research and training projects in cooperation with partners including the National Park Service, the United States Marine Corps, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Shelburne Farms, and Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest. In addition, he offers technical assistance to Vermont communities working on historic preservation projects in a position that is jointly sponsored by the Preservation Trust of Vermont and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
