Master of Arts in Teaching: Curriculum and Instruction Program
This program is designed for individuals who have a bachelor’s
degree from an accredited institution and want to become licensed to
teach at either the middle level (grades 5-9) or in secondary education
(grades 7-12). This program, which can be completed within one calendar
year, prepares individuals to work in a public school setting and
fulfills the professional education requirements for state licensure.
Students can choose to focus in either Middle Level Education or Secondary Education.
Only completed applications will be able to be reviewed. In order for your application to be fully complete for either Middle Level or Secondary Education, you must submit 1) your application 2) your resume 3) your statement of purpose 4) three full letters of recommendation and 5) original transcripts from all undergraduate colleges, 6) and a Vermont Resident Status Form for Vermont residents. In addition, a writing sample is strongly encouraged as this program is highly competitive, but it is optional.
Secondary Education: The deadline for applications for fall of 2012 has been extended. Priority will be given to applications that are completed
by May 15, 2012. We would welcome your application.
Middle Level Education is no longer accepting applications for fall of 2012 but would welcome your application for fall 2013.
