Master of Education: Curriculum and Instruction Program

The 30-credit Master of Education Curriculum and Instruction Program is designed to develop leadership in teaching, curriculum theory, curriculum development, and related areas of research for elementary and secondary public and private school settings. Areas of focus within the M. Ed., include Early Childhood,  Educational Technology, Library Media, Mathematics, Middle Level, Multicultural & Global Studies, Physical Education, Reading & Literacy, and Special Education.  The program is appropriate for professional educators as well as for those with educational roles in human-service agencies.

Programs are developed to provide a comprehensive background in fields basic to instruction and curriculum development as well as the application of that knowledge to a specialized field.  They include courses aimed at the examination and improvement of instructional practices in elementary and secondary schools, and understanding of curriculum theory and the application of curriculum development.
