Six-credit diversity requirement
The University of Vermont is proud to require that all undergraduate students fulfill a diversity requirement prior to graduation. Effective fall 2008, students must take one 3-credit course from the Race and Racism in the U.S. (Diversity Category 1; view courses in catalogue) and one 3-credit course from Human and Social Diversity (Diversity Category 2; view courses in catalogue).

- ALANA U.S. Ethnic Studies Program
- Global and Regional Studies Program, including:
- African Studies, Asian Studies, Global Studies, Latin American Studies, Middle East Studies, and many more.
